I slept with them on my bedside table...
...so that when I woke up in the morning I would know they weren't just a dream.

Tee hee, I know exactly what that is like - I frequently sleep with my latest thrift find on my bedside table, so I can look over and see whatever it is just sitting there, and feel happy!
